Be Nobody

The spiritual path is actually delightfully simple. Just be nobody. There's no one to be. Who is it that wants to be somebody? What does it mean to be somebody? Who defines all of that?

Past the obvious truth that you are you and you are a human being, there's not a lot more that needs definition for daily living. You probably have noticed a theme on this blog about letting go. What are you letting go of? You're letting go of everything that defines you as somebody. You're letting go of acting as a victim, perpetrator, lover, hater, fool, wisdom-sharer, and everything else. In that letting go, there is a delightful freedom to be anyone. How beautiful is that?

Awake: A Student's Story

Today I have the pleasure of sharing my student, Brandy's, awakening experience. I love it because it does a wonderful job of conveying the simplicity of awakening, and I love being able to share it with all of you to remind that awakening doesn't need 30 years of meditation, a specific chant, a perfect guru, or any of that. You don't even have to consider yourself spiritual. It just needs space to arise.

I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did.

Spirituality Webinar: Practicing With Your Intuition

I am constantly talking about using your intuition on this spirituality blog, but many of you may not feel very confident in what that is or how to use it. In this next webinar, I'll talk more about what intuition is and offer some simple, everyday ways that you can practice using it.

As you get more comfortable with your intuition, your awareness expands, and you may see and notice things that you had not before. For those of you in this space, I can talk more about how we refine our intuition and what it means when we intuitively speak, feel, and act in our regular lives.

Uncovering Core Issues

I've talked about this topic in a variety of ways, but until now, I'm not sure that I've really emphasized how jarring it is to run into a core issue on the spiritual path. In this sense, many of you will have been working on aspects of a core issue and will have probably dealt with a lot of symptoms and unhealthy habits around it. For instance, lack of self-worth is a pandemic issue in people, and you can see it in symptoms such as promiscuity, workaholism, drug abuse, food abuse (binging and purging), and so forth. So many of you probably will have had to work through a number of these symptoms first when one day everything seems to be going along well, and then wham! You run into this inner wall; an inner wall that you'd never really noticed before. It is jarring because you probably feel like you've worked and cleared out so much stuff that you can't understand what this inner wall is. Congratulations! You've finally cleared away enough of the obvious debris and distractions to really get to work on opening to the beauty of you.

Now, this is where it starts to get interesting.

Spiritual Webinar: Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts

spiritual transformation, spiritual picture, dragonfly, spirituality image
For some many of you, walking your spiritual journey starts to open up amazing new abilities--skills and awareness that you never knew you had. For others just starting, you may be wondering what your spiritual gifts are and how to access them. I'll talk about those aspects of the spiritual path and more in my next webinar.

The path to embracing your spiritual gifts is a path of letting go, as is most of the spiritual journey. The more you let go of your limitations, the more you open to the fullness of yourself. No ideas or identities can ever hold the fullness of you; they can only cut off parts of you that don't fit within the identity or idea.

If you're interested in learning more about this topic and joining the webinar, please read on and sign up on the below link.

Grieving a Lost Loved One

Death is one of the most challenging and potentially most liberating parts of human existance. In our own death, we may finally let go of all the attachments we've had and move into our liberated energy state--the state of our soul. But in the death of those dear to us, we can also find liberation from attachments and ideas about how life should flow because clearly life does not flow by any man or woman's design. Deeper patterns and intelligence are at work, and even though we often do not see these patterns clearly, if ever, there is the opportunity to release more deeply into life when we are confronted by death.

The Return Home

The return home amidst spiritual awakening or generally for anyone on the spiritual path can be metaphorical as well as quite literal. I've seen it cut both ways depending on the help, support, and inner healing someone requires. In essence, the idea is that you are returning to the beginning. You are going down to the root causes of your social programming and finding the things that do not align with love and truth and beauty. You are going here because there's no way to build any kind of a new home for yourself if the foundation is still full of lies and disease.

So down, down, down we all must go if we are to truly know ourselves.
