Spiritual Webinar: Distinguishing Self-Love from Selfish Love

My next webinar will be about understanding what is self-love versus selfish love. Because true self-love is often unacknowledged in society, many people have no real idea what it is. There are plenty of juvenile ideas about what self-love is, but this is way more than occasionally giving yourself a vacation to a tropical island or taking a bubble bath.

True self-love becomes the unshakable foundation from which we lead lives of loving service. It cannot be taken away from us; we can only ignore that space within us.

If you're interested, please read on and sign up on the below link.

Sharing Your Joy Properly

spiritual chalk art, spiritual image, spiritual photo, spiritual photography
The title of this spiritual post may seem a little odd to you. I mean, "How does one not share joy properly?" Well, for most people, it has to do with trying to force their way of enjoying life on others. It's like the overly aggressive people who think that if everyone isn't drinking alcohol, then they're not having as good of a time as they are. There are more benign ways this shows up too, but you get the point.

However, 90% of people need to practice sharing joy. Consequently, this blog post isn't for you today. Most people simply need to go out and offer their joy (a way of helping, a beautiful poem, etc.) and see who takes it up. It will teach you much.

Today's blog is really intended for those of you in the deep shifts of awakening. What tends to happen is many of you wake up, and you can see the joy in everything. People at this phase often want to share their joy with everyone, and some even have the idea that they should wake everyone up. Ah, but there's a time for everything, and this blog post will talk about why this is one of the extremely, extremely few times when it is not appropriate to share your joy.

Spiritual Poetry: That Which Lurks Below

shadow spirituality, spiritual image
I'm very excited to be able to share another poem by my student, Rach. In this poem, I've encouraged her as I encourage you to look into the dark and lonely places hidden within. If we are ever to fully stand in our light, we have to embrace every last inch of ourselves, including all those things that we've left in the dark.

I hope this poem offers you a broader perspective on spirituality beyond any limiting ideas that spirituality is just what feels good or only that which is pure and starched white, cleanliness. While this poem isn't meant to help you linger longer than necessary in such places, it is an encouragement that you can face it, and with love and occasionally a little help, you will find your way through.

Teacher & Healer Mentorship Program

Part of my role as a spiritual teacher is also to teach other spiritual teachers and healers. This program is for those of my active students who are ready to become spiritual teachers and healers. It is also available to my students who want to deepen their awareness and practice if they are already practitioners.

For the already active teacher or healer, this mentorship can be helpful if you feel like you are dealing with repeating issues as a healer or teacher (having the same difficulties in business, the same student/patient issues, etc. again and again).

The purpose of the program for most of you will be about helping you to more clearly understand yourself and what you uniquely offer as a healer and/or teacher. Many people come into spiritual teaching and healing with misguided notions about saving the world, but this is not what we are here to do. We are here to help when called upon. We offer the gifts that most naturally come from us, and we are here to be as we are because being is the greatest teaching or healing we can ever offer anyone.

I am interested in helping people work through deep core issues to be extremely clear vessels of light and kindness. This means that you'll be the right kind of mentee if you thrive in intensity and are interested in doing really rigorous inner work beyond what you have already done. My methods will vary by person, and as always, I'm helping you to break open to your gifts. I am not imposing or offering a specific methodology, but I certainly have some structures and ways of working as a teacher that I'll make available to you. This spiritual mentorship really isn't meant for someone who just wants to do a little energy healing on others or teach basic meditation. There are plenty of other classes and teachers who can mentor you on doing that. This program is for the serious spiritual teacher or healer who wants to make this their life work and help others break free of core pain, trauma, and other issues.

Spiritual Teacher Mentorship Program Details

People Who May Want to Consider This Mentorship Program:
  • Aspiring healers
  • Aspiring spiritual teachers
  • Current spiritual teachers who want to refine and improve their practice
  • Current spiritual healers who want to refine and improve their practice

Opportunities:
Many teachers and healers have cobbled together their spiritual practices from multiple sources, or they've relied very heavily on one lineage or tradition. For those who are ready to fill in the gaps and expand beyond what they current know, this mentorship program is an opportunity to do so.

Those of you who are aspiring to teach and/or heal have the opportunity to learn from a spiritual teacher who teaches on the heart, mind, body, and energy levels.

Qualifications
Being qualified for this program means that you have already done a lot of inner work and that you are a current, active student of mine. Knowing who you are is more than conceptual understanding, but it doesn't mean having resolved every issue you have. Some key qualifications include:
  • Having a regular practice and established way to maintain your self-care
  • Having an understanding of most of your core issues as well as resolution of some of them (core issues include scarcity fears, lack of self-worth, fear of the unknown, fear of death, etc.)
  • Healing of any deep pain or trauma (You are not ready to be a healer or teacher if you are still carrying trauma inside.)
  • Having worked with me as a student for at least 3 years
  • Ability to be open-hearted while hearing difficult things about others or about you
  • A deep understanding and appreciation of different spiritual traditions that you plan to use in your teaching/healing work (For instance, if you like the Reiki modality, then you should be well-versed in it or getting additional training in it as well as being mentored by me.)

Obviously, understanding and releasing core issues is serious work, but so is being a spiritual teacher and/or healer. It is important to really know all the stuff you are bringing into your work with others so that you don't have any surprises come up in you when you are helping others. And these surprises can come from the heart, body, mind, and energy, which is why all levels must be addressed, healed, and allowed to grow into maturity.

If you are not a student of mine, please check out the sessions section to learn how to become one:

Location:
Northern Nevada. This is in-person work. You will have to be local or willing to relocate for an extended period of time.

Format:
  • Weekly one-on-one spiritual sessions
  • Weekly meetings going through topics in the curriculum
  • Auditing of other student sessions where a student approves of having a third-party witnessing
  • Homework and research of other modalities that you want to use to gain proficiency
  • Extended sessions for in-depth examination of remaining core issues
  • Deliberate triggering of issues (If you can't handle criticism, you may have extended work with me where I or another is criticizing you relentlessly. It sounds intense, and it is. But your students/clients can bring all kinds of stuff out of you if you are not prepared.)

Time Frame:
The mentorship program is likely to last in the vicinity of 5 years. I take this very seriously because there are so many wounded healers and incomplete teachers trying to fix others or teach others when they do not fully understand themselves and what spirituality is all about. This leads to excessive confusion for spiritual students and clients that serves no good purpose. The multi-year commitment shows your willingness to truly know yourself and to appreciate the depth and power of the work you'll share with dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of students.

Number of Mentees:
1 mentee at any given time

Curriculum:
Here are some of the top-level topics that would be covered:
  • Orientation/Introduction
  • Commitment Ceremony
  • Going Deeper in Your Own Spiritual Discovery
  • Evolving Spiritual Self-Care
  • Teaching
  • Healing
  • Privacy and your boundaries
  • Business

To give you a glimpse of some of the in-depth topics that could be covered, here's some of what may be under the "Teaching" section:
  • Helping Students Find Their Own Wisdom
  • When to Let a Student Go
  • How to Be With a Student's Pain
  • Perceiving the Deceptive Student with Ulterior Motives
  • Being Loved and Being Hated by Students: Being With Both and Understanding the Truth
  • The Importance of Your Self-Care and Maintaining a Disciplined Spiritual Practice
  • When to Push a Student
  • How to Set Up the Right Business for You
  • How to work (or not work) on a "bad" day
  • How to Ask for Money and Be in Integrity With Reciprocity

Suggested Donation:
This will be determined in discussions between myself and the mentee. It will most likely be done on a monthly basis given the long-term commitment of the process.

Registration:
Please click on the following link and fill out the form if you are a CURRENT student and are interested in working with me as a mentor.

Spiritual Self-Care and Working a Regular Job

spirituality imagery, spiritual photography, spiritual picture
In the hearts and minds of many on the spiritual path, are the concerns about how to make the entirety of your life spiritual. You may feel like you're doing all the right spiritual things, but what about work? How can you find a job that supports you on your spiritual path? How can you find others of like mind doing similar work?

However, this focus is a little backwards. Rather, the question is how do you stay centered in your inner wisdom and love in any job that you do? How do you make space for others to follow their divine paths without judging where they are going? In this way, any job becomes a spiritual job, and truth be told, I've learned more than a few lessons about myself in past jobs.

With that said, most of you are completely out of practice in this spiritual practice, and transforming your mindset is the first thing that must arise to really embrace whatever job you are doing now. Certainly, I don't advocate staying in any abusive situation--including a job. However, most of you are not in such great difficulty, and many of you will learn quite a bit about the world you have co-created around yourself by learning to use your job as a mirror for yourself. Along the way, there are definitely some simple spiritual self-care things you can do to help you stay balanced as you face some of these mirrors in your workplace.

Spirituality Webinar: Awakening and Relationships

spiritual awakening, spiritual rebirth, spiritual metamorphosis, picture, photo, photography
Spiritual awakening tends to bring quite a shift in relationships as the relationship we have with ourselves is irrevocably shifted (in many ways, the relationship is gone because we melt into oneness). However, as many of you move through spaces of deep learning through relationships, that intensity can be very challenging as soulful lovers, deep soul connections with business partners, spiritual teachers, and other amazing new connections arise. Very quickly, there are also endings to old relationships and even the new relationships.

So how do you make sense of it all?

Spiritual Awakening and Forgetfulness

Spiritual awakening brings about many shifts for most people. There is no one way to describe since all of you are so individual and unique. Through that uniqueness, your shifts express themselves differently. As I often like to point out, there are many types of spiritual shifts beyond the spiritual awakening shift that gets talked about most. They are all equally beautiful, and there is certainly a lot of similarities and overlap in experience. The spiritual space doesn't really have hard dividing lines. In general, it is a space that is erasing those divisions as we all come back to union.

But along the way, we often find ourselves in seemingly unfamiliar territory, and as our minds seem to go through a kind of spiritual mind-wipe, for awhile, many of us become quite forgetful. It can be either really relaxing or really terrifying depending on how you hold onto the old ego identity. But why does this forgetfulness arise? Will it stay for ever? Here are some of my thoughts.

Spiritual Tests from a Spiritual Teacher

This spirituality blog post will be a little different than most of my others, as it is aimed to help you in engaging with a spiritual teacher. Many of you are interested in this kind of teaching and help, and that's a wonderful thing. But working with a spiritual teacher such as myself isn't what most people think it is. Firstly, there are far too many idolized images of the constantly smiling, always serene teacher. It creates the idea that the spiritual teacher doesn't experience other emotions. Instead of seeing a real human being before you, you see a caricature. Additionally, spiritual teachers aren't always soft-spoken or passive. Spiritual teachers like me use every emotion, idea, and tool in shed. It's all available, and it's all used in integrity, although it may not seem like that to the unlearned student.

So here are some ways that teachers will often test students to see if they are ready and willing to do the work that they need to do. Many of these spiritual tests will come before a teacher even officially starts working with a student, but they are all done to help students come to the deepest realizations of themselves.

The Story of the Insane Man

There once was a man who had plenty. He lived in a village that prided itself on balance. For many hundreds of years, this great village had enough. They managed their resources in good times to be prepared for bad times. And though there was sickness and hurts that arose from time to time, there was no suffering for the people who lived for each other and in service of the divine.

But this man who had plenty saw the sicknesses, and he saw the hurts. And he saw death. In his heart, the spark of fear arose. He came to one of the elders one day and said, "Are you not fearful that we do not have enough to keep sickness away."

The elder turned to him and said, "There is nothing that can keep sickness away. Sickness comes when it chooses."

But the man who had plenty persisted.

The Timeless Witness

witness, watcher, spirituality, enlightenment, spiritual awakening,
The timeless witness or watcher is that space of clarity and oneness that reside in all of us. I often describe it like falling backwards out of myself and into everything so that even the original ego, "I," is not excluded, although initially there is this quality of separation that I feel. Through that initial separation, you may feel the claws of fear trying to hold you into your ego identity, and they may come at you with a variety of reasons why you cannot fully let go into this profound presence. So for the purpose of this aspect of embodying a spiritual awakening, I feel like offering a few words to point you along the way so that you find comfort in the space that is.

This Is Only You and There Is Only Everything
