Updated Posts About Healing, Spiritual Ego, and the Spiritual Path

modern, updated, building
At the time of this post, I've been blogging for almost 8 straight years. That's a lot of spiritual blog posts. Some have stood the test of time, and some have become dated in terms of how I share my thoughts about spirituality. As such, I've been taking time to re-work some of these older posts rather than focusing on new content.

And really, is there anything new about the spiritual path? No. Sure, there are some new contexts like how do we engage with a lot of technological changes in society from a spiritual point of view? How does a spiritual awakening mesh with a 9 to 5 work-life? And other questions. But the basics remain the same.

On that note, here are 3 spiritual blog posts that I've recently updated. Enjoy!

A Revamped Post About the Spiritual Path

The original post about what the spiritual path is was originally set up as a direct explanation of how I view the true spiritual path. However, I took a different approach when re-writing it. That meant that I dumped the entire original post. In my new approach, I wanted to appreciate the different, but common goals people often have for the spiritual path.

For example, when someone is seeking happiness from the spiritual path, they're likely to have very different ideas and experiences than someone seeking healing. When a person can appreciate the different core goals that people have, then it is easier to understand why some people do intense breathwork that makes the cry their eyes out while others are lounging at a yoga retreat in Tahiti and both consider this to be the spiritual path.

However, the more we go within, the path to spiritual freedom becomes the clear, logical choice from some of the goals that we may have initially pursued and gotten us started.

Updated Healing Process Post

As posts go, this one about releasing pain and the cycles of healing has stood up well, although I have updated it in the past. The bullet point section offering an overview of the healing process has stood up particularly well. I did almost nothing to it in this round of edits.

In general, this is one of the more important pieces I've written. I feel like it offers people insights into a process of healing that is not well-understood. It also honors the gritty, messiness of healing, which I feel is always important. Sometimes, I feel like there is this idea of issues magically releasing without much trouble. That's pretty rare. If it does happen, that's Divine grace, and usually the rest of the issues won't leave so easily.

More Thoughts on Spiritual Ego

This last post that I updated was one of the very first posts I ever wrote. While I've updated it from time to time, it was definitely time for another update.

Thanks to the Internet, it seems like there is an explosion of spiritual egos because people have so much access to all kinds of spiritual tools and ideas. However, most people do not go deep enough in their spiritual work. They create new egos that they believe are "spiritual." But they really haven't addressed their core issues much less the most basic primal fears and desires that drive a human being. Until we truly realize freedom, the temptation to grow a new ego will be there, and this spiritual ego is full of all kinds of trouble.
